It gives me an immense pleasure to establish BOTANY 4U, An Online Platform for the Students of Life Sciences. The platform aims at excellence without compromises and always upholds the universal principles of humanism enshrined in its culture and ceaselessly endeavours to groom the students in a holistic manner.
As Nelson Mandela said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, we set our mission to empower students to be achievers and responsible, committed individuals with human values so that they can become assets to family, society, nation and the world.
I am extremely confident about its role as a stepping stone in the field of Life Sciences to bring the students, researchers and teachers on a common online platform in and around the globe. The team of BOTANY 4U endeavours to make this platform helpful to every stakeholder in Life Sciences right from academics in UG, PG to research in higher level in the subjects. In addition to Life Sciences subjects, the knowledge will also be shared with the students on career opportunities in Life Sciences and other fields available in India and abroad. Frequent Guest Lectures will be delivered useful in personality development from renowned speakers associated with us.
National Teachers Organization In Life Sciences (NTOILS) is organized to bring the teachers on this online platform. This platform will organise frequent meetings of NTOILS members to bring their knowledge and skills together. This will help in collaborative research work for the researchers and equally help to enhance the skills useful in distant teaching-learning practices with the help of ICT tools and techniques. Also there will be annual international conference for the NTOILS members to share knowledge and skills useful in blended teaching-learning practices and research Life Sciences.
“A single flower doesn’t have the ability to make a garland”. Similarly, this platform is not the outcome of the efforts put in by an individual. It is the immense efforts put forward first and foremost by our founder members, teachers, resource persons, friends and students in Life Sciences from India and abroad. This platform is just a small step to boost the teaching-learning practices remotely as well as research in Life Sciences at national and international level.
This platform will also help to transform Society’s attitude towards blended teaching-learning practices i.e., the traditional teaching with use of ICT.
